Privacy Policy

Stay is designed to help you capture and organize information you choose to share with it, while treating that information thoughtfully. This policy explains what Stay processes, how it's used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information Stay processes

Depending on how you use Stay, the information involved in providing the service may include:

  • Contact information: your email address, and your name where it is supplied through Sign in with Apple or your account setup
  • Identifiers: your Stay account (user) ID
  • Your content: notes, reminders, subscription tracking records, and installment or payment plan tracking records you create, along with text and links you share into Stay (including through the iOS Share Extension)
  • AI Voice input and results: a short audio recording while it is being processed, and the resulting transcript and AI interpretation, including anything you choose to save
  • Purchase information: your Stay Pro subscription status and related purchase history, as needed to determine your access
  • AI usage information: information needed to apply usage limits to AI features
  • Feedback: text you choose to submit through Report Issue
  • Preferences you set to customize how Stay works for you
  • Technical information necessary to operate and maintain the service, such as device and app diagnostics

Stay does not access your bank or financial accounts, your contacts, or your precise location.

2. How Stay uses information

Information is used to provide Stay to you, including:

  • Creating and organizing your notes, reminders, and tracking records
  • Transcribing and interpreting voice input when you use AI Voice
  • Signing you in and keeping your account and preferences available across sessions and devices
  • Determining whether you have Stay Pro access and applying AI usage limits
  • Responding to support requests and feedback
  • Operating, maintaining, securing, and improving the service

3. AI Voice and OpenAI

AI Voice only starts when you tap the microphone. Stay records a short audio clip on your device and sends it securely to Stay's backend (a Supabase Edge Function). The backend sends the recording and related content to OpenAI for transcription and AI processing and interpretation.

Stay does not keep the raw audio recording after processing. The transcript or interpreted result is shown to you to review before anything is saved. If you choose to save it, it becomes content in your Stay account, such as a note or reminder.

The first time you use AI Voice, the app shows this notice: “When you use AI Voice, Stay sends your recording securely for transcription and AI processing using OpenAI. Stay does not keep the raw recording after processing, and you'll review the result before anything is saved.”

OpenAI is a third-party service provider. Information sent to it is handled under OpenAI's own agreements and policies, which are separate from this policy. AI-generated results can be inaccurate, so please review them.

4. Notes, reminders, and tracking

Notes are the core of what you capture in Stay. Where Stay recognizes information that could become a reminder, a subscription record, or an installment record, it may surface that structured information for you to review before it is confirmed.

Stay's subscription and installment tracking is not a bank-monitoring tool. It does not connect to your bank accounts, read card transactions, or otherwise monitor financial institutions. These records come only from what you capture or confirm within Stay.

5. Account information

You can sign in with Apple or with an email address and password. Stay uses Supabase for authentication and session management, and your content is linked to your account so it is available to you across sessions and devices.

6. Notifications

If you enable them, Stay uses local notifications on your device to let you know about reminders and tracked items. These are not marketing push notifications. You can control notification permissions at any time in your device settings.

7. Service providers

Stay relies on the following third parties to operate. They process information on Stay's behalf or to provide their own part of the service:

  • Supabase provides backend infrastructure: authentication, the database that stores your account-linked Stay data, and backend (Edge Function) processing. Stay does not store raw AI Voice recordings in Supabase.
  • OpenAI provides transcription and AI processing for AI Voice, as described above.
  • RevenueCat helps Stay determine whether you have the Stay Pro entitlement and processes subscription lifecycle information. RevenueCat is not the payment processor.
  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple and the App Store, and handles purchases and payment for Stay Pro through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

These providers may process or retain information according to their own agreements and policies.

8. Stay Pro purchases

Stay Pro is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes your payment; Stay does not receive your payment card details. Stay and RevenueCat receive subscription and entitlement information (such as whether Stay Pro is active) so the app can unlock Stay Pro features. See the Terms of Use for subscription terms.

9. Account deletion

You can delete your account inside the Stay app under Settings. Deletion requires confirmation. If you signed in with Apple, you will be asked to re-authenticate, and Stay's backend revokes the Apple authorization before deleting your account.

Deleting your account deletes your authentication user, and account-linked application data is designed to be deleted with it, including your notes, preferences, subscription tracking records, installment tracking records, entitlement records, and AI usage records.

Deleting your Stay account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription. Stay cannot cancel your Apple subscription on your behalf. If you don't want Stay Pro to renew, cancel it yourself in your Apple account subscription settings.

10. Data retention

Stay retains account-linked content for as long as it is needed to provide the service and while your account exists. Stay does not keep raw AI Voice recordings after processing.

When you delete your account, deletion of your account-linked application data begins as described above. Some limited information may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or financial and accounting obligations.

Third-party service providers may process or retain information according to their own agreements and policies.

11. Your choices and privacy requests

You can:

  • Edit and manage your content in the app
  • Delete your account in the app under Settings
  • Control notification permissions in your device settings
  • Choose what you capture and share with Stay, including whether to use AI Voice

Stay does not currently offer a self-service data export feature. For privacy or data requests that you can't complete in the app, including questions about your information, email support@stay-ai.co.

12. No advertising or tracking

Stay contains no advertising SDKs and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. Information you capture is used to provide the service to you.

13. Security

Stay uses technical access controls and server-side handling intended to protect your information, including authenticated account access, database access controls, and credential handling that keeps AI and service credentials out of the mobile app itself.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. We work to apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information involved.

14. Children

Stay is not specifically designed for children.

15. App Store release waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this website, we collect the email address you enter. We use it only to let you know when Stay becomes available on the App Store, or to share a closely related launch update. You do not need to join the waitlist to use Stay, and the waitlist does not ask for a name, phone number, or any other profile information.

Waitlist email addresses are stored in a Supabase database, and this website and its waitlist request handling run on Cloudflare. Joining the waitlist does not create a Stay account.
